Genesis 2:16-17

Genesis 2:16-17

Again, not a prayer, but another tally of God initiating contact with humanity -- this time specifically addressing Adam.  And, in another rabbit-hole - note that these are God's rules to Adam. At this point in the telling, Adam has been placed in the garden and Eve has not yet been created.

And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Those rules look fairly simple and straight-forward to me.  I assume Adam saw no difficulty in following them, and the rules were clear - because Adam asked no questions about them.

But - another rabbit hole:  Even though God has blessed creation and called it good - evil already exists. Note the name of the tree in the garden: the knowledge of good and evil.

To summarize: this is not prayer; but it is another instance of God starting the conversation.
